The Photographer
![]() My name is Sabine Zehetner and I want to welcome you to my website. I'm currently living in Austria, New York City as well as Connecticut. I got my MA from the University of Salzburg where I took my first photography classes. After graduating, I went to New York City to go to acting school. My camera, however, was never far and I started to be more interested in photography workshops than acting classes. After about a year of building my portfolio, I decided to send it to the New York-based photo agency, images.com. Since getting a contract from a photo agency is usually difficult, I was surprised that I was offered representation immediately. Armed with my agency contract, my confidence began to soar and I finally realized that I could turn photography into my profession. I started to learn more and more about what professional-level photography was all about. Besides the good old learning-by-doing approach, I additionally took classes, participated in photography workshops and worked as an intern for several brilliant photographers in Austria as well as in NYC. During my first year of pursuing photography on a professional level: I had the chance to work on a number of interesting commissions, started to sell prints, did my first book covers in Europe, was teaching a couple of workshop, and had my work exhibited in Austria as well as in the US. I feel very lucky to have found a profession that I'm so passionate about. I refuse to stop learning and new, interesting commissions keep coming in. So I'm just curious to see what lies ahead. Enjoy viewing my photographs and feel free to contact me with any questions and comments you have! ![]() |
