What's new?

Hello everybody,

it has been a while since my last news post. Summer is coming to an end, autumn is about to start. So here's a quick summary of what I have been up to. Well, I'll make it as brief as possible because there was A LOT going on ;)

I was pretty busy all summer long - many assignments, more commissioned work than in the past and good sales on Fine Art America! After over a year, FAA is finally catching on. I also updated my portfolio on FAA so take a look, feel free to do some browsing! There is also a limited time promotion going on until Sept. 25. So take advantage of that!

Art Prints

One of the most interesting assigments this summer was definitely the light painting I did for a client. For me as a photographer it's fun to shoot and work with and my client was provided with modern photography that suited his needs for interior decorating. Here's one example:

Imagine above photo in a modern, clean ambience, blown up to almost 2 metres in length! AWESOME. My client used a total of 8 prints to bring some color into a big hotel lobby. With his permission I'm going to post a few here on my website.

As a fun side project (and they usually start late at night when inspiration really strikes) I started to use some of my shots as the basis for, as I like to call it, photo art. Some of them are already included in FAA as well as RedBubble's portfolio and were pretty well received with two FAA sales within the first 48 hours of putting the shots on there. Again, one example (might be my favorite one):

Of course, they are done in PS CS5 with an additional 2 programs. I won't pretend I really painted them. BUT it's not as easy as I thought it would be. Not every frame works, the tones and levels need to be adjusted beforehand, the colors after the converting process. I love the vintage feel and the drama of these pieces of photo art.

AND now the biggest piece of news. The owners of JuicyWalls (operating out of Frankfurt, Germany) became aware of my work and, after presenting them selected photographs, offered me a contract! Yeeeeeeeeeeeah! I'm really excited about this opportunity. They used wo work solely with agencies so, technically, I'm one of the first individual photographers they signed with! Double-yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah! I'll let you know when my photos are available and with this am going to give you more information on JuicyWalls and how it all works.

I'm still in the process of finishing some summer assignments. But when everything is done, I'll post here and show you some results of my haaaaaaaaaaaaaaard work ;)

Take care and have a great autumn!
